Why wax? A razor works just fine, doesn't it?

We often get asked at The Wax Bar, “Why should I wax at all? My razor works just fine too!” At first glance it may seem that way, but let's talk about the real difference between waxing and shaving. Spoiler alert: your razor can't beat this!

Did you know that waxing will keep you completely hair-free for 2-3 weeks? Yes, really! And it gets even better: only after 4 to 6 weeks are the hairs long enough to wax again. So that means almost a month of smooth, soft skin without a razor around! But that's not all! Our Supreme Wax not only works wonders to remove your hair, but it also conditions your skin.

The time saver

Recognize it? You shave your legs in the morning, and in bed at night you already feel those first familiar stubble appears. That's because with shaving, you only shave the hairs on the surface. You created that stubble while you were shaving.... After all, a hair grows at a rate of 0.3 to 0.5 millimeters per day after shaving, so after a few days you're back with that razor in your hand.

Waxing works differently. After a waxing, your hairs stay completely gone for 2 to 3 weeks. No stubble, no hairs. And then when they come back, they're thinner, softer, and much less visible. Bonus? After 4 to 6 weeks, they're only long enough (about 0.5cm) to wax again! That means weeks of smooth skin with no worries. How. Because when we wax, we remove the entire hair, including the root. This gives your skin time to recover and ensures that you really enjoy that smooth feeling for longer.

The Result

That silky, smooth skin for a long time - that's what everyone wants, right? But if we are honest, shaving is often accompanied by irritation, right? Who doesn't know about razor bumps, itching, or that stinging feeling? Maybe it's due to a blunt razor, shaving too often, or the fact that you didn't use shaving cream. In short, too many factors that can make your skin angry!

Waxing gives a completely different result: no skin irritation, no itching, no ingrown hairs. Your hairs come back slower, are finer and softer, and your skin stays smoother for much longer. Plus, waxing even helps reduce ingrown hairs in the long run!

Razor vs. waxing: the conclusion

Sure, a razor works too - quickly and easily even. But ask yourself: do you want to keep dealing with stiff stubble, razor bumps and irritated skin? Or do you want to enjoy weeks of smooth, silky skin without the hassle?

If you're ready for smooth skin without compromise, we'll see you soon at The Wax Bar! Ready, set, wax!
